Abu Sayeed's film “Banshi” set to release soon

Mamunul Haq and Tanvin Sweety in the film

Award-winning filmmaker Abu Sayeed's 4th feature film Banshi will be released at Star Cineplex, Bashudhara City Shopping Mall on November 16th, says a press release.
Banshi is funded by the renowned Swiss organisation, Visions Sud Est.
The film zeroes in on urban characters at a traditional rural mela. Arif, an aspiring filmmaker, goes to a remote village to see a mela, where he meets Shaila. Both of them are taken in as guests by two influential families of the village. They are made to witness a tussle between the two families. The situation reminds Arif of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet or Tolstoy's Little Girls Wiser than Men. The experience however, inspires him to envision a scene for his next film.
Apart from direction, Abu Sayeed has also written the script. Mujibul Haque is the cinematographer. S.I. Tutul has composed the songs for the film. Mamunul Haq, Tanvin Sweety, Jayanto Chattyo-padhyay, Amirul Haq Chowdhury, K.S. Firoz, Afroza Banu and others play the lead roles in the film.
