Dr Zoha's anniversary of death today

The death anniversary of Prof Dr Shamsuzzoha will be observed on the Rajshahi University (RU) campus today.
On this day in 1969, Prof Zoha, a teacher of the chemistry department and proctor of the university, he was shot dead by the Pakistani army in front of the RU main gate. His death intensified mass uprising against the then autocratic regime.
The RU authorities have taken elaborate programmes to observe the day, which include placing wreaths at his grave, discussion, memorial lecture, milad mahfil and special prayer session.
University Grant Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof Nazrul Islam will deliver the 'Zoha Memorial Lecture' at Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium.
Different student and cultural organisations also took various programmes on the occasion.
