Bangladeshis win in 10th round

Bangladesh men's team returned to winning ways at the 38th Chess Olympiad defeating team El Salvador 2.5-1.5 in the 10th round in Dresden, Germany on Sunday.
Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman and FM Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar won their boards against IM Leyva Hector and Martinez Nelson respectively while GM Abdullah Al Rakib drew with IM Arias Lemmys.
FM Abu Sufian Shakil lost to Chavez Ricardo Ernesto but Bangladesh climbed up to 55th position with 11 match points and 21.5 games points.
Bangladesh women's team also won their tenth round match, beating IBCA 3-1. WFM Shamima Akhter Liza beat Stolarczyk Anna, Nazrana Khan Eva beat FM Debowska Teresa and Syeda Shabana Parveen Nipa beat Fries Elisabeth. WIM Rani Hamid was the only player to lose for the women's team who are now 64th with 10 match points and 18.5 game points.
In the 11th and last round yesterday, the men's team were meeting Thailand and the women against Luxembourg.
