ACC sues ex-BNP MP Dhirendranath in Narail

Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Thursday night filed a case against former BNP lawmaker from Narail-1 constituency Dhirendranath Saha for having ill-gotten assets and concealing wealth information.
Kustia ACC Assistant Director Mosharraf Hossain Mridha filed the case with Kalia police station charging Dhirendranath with for having Tk 20,92,939 and concealing information about Tk. 9,49, 538 wealth.
Contacted, Mehedi Hasan, officer in charge (OC) of Kalia police station, said Dhirendranath is now on the run after filing of the case.
Dherendranath Saha was elected from Narail-I in 1991 and 1996 with Awami League ticket.
Failing to get nomination in 2001, he joined BNP and contested Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina. As Sheikh Hasina vacated the seat, Dhirendranath was elected in by-election in 2001 as a BNP candidate.
