Direct hajj flights from Sylhet on Nov 25, 27

Uncertainty is over as the Biman Bangladesh has announced its schedule of direct flights for non-ballottee hajj pilgrims from Sylhet Osmani International Airport.
However, the national flag carrier will operate only two flights to carry 628 pilgrims against 1650 from Sylhet this year.
The remaining pilgrims will be sent via Dhaka.
An official of Biman in Sylhet office yesterday said of the two flights the first one is scheduled to take off from the airport at 8:15am on November 25 and the other one at 8:00am on November 27.
Both the flights will be operated by DC-10 aircraft having 314 seats.
Biman started direct hajj flights from Sylhet last year by pressing into service only two flights.
On completion of the runway expansion and other development works at the airport, the number of direct flights will be raised next year to accommodate all hajj pilgrims in the region, the official added.
