8 sacks of fertiliser seized: 2 held in B'baria

Police seized eight sacks of fertiliser weighing 400 kilogram and arrested two persons who were smuggling those from Brahmanbaria to Habiganj district on Thursday.
Ahid Mia, 35, and Arzoo Mia, 50, were smuggling eight sacks of fertiliser from Brahmanbaria to Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj district through Dhaka Sylhet highway, police said.
Acting on secret information, a team of police of Islampur outpost challenged them near Islampur Degree College here.
As Ahid and Arzoo failed to show valid documents, police seized the fertiliser and arrested them.
