AKM Mosharraf, ex-MP Milon freed on bail

Former state minister for energy AKM Mosharraf Hossain and former BNP lawmaker AKM Fazlul Huq Milon were released from prison on bail yesterday.
Mosharraf was freed from Kashimpur jail at about 2:45pm and Milan from a prison cell of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University at about 12:15pm.
Deputy Inspector General of Prisons (DIG-Prisons) Maj Shamsul Haider Siddique told The Daily Star, "We received the bail papers on Monday. They were released after the papers were verified."
Mosharraf has been accused in four cases including the Gatco, Niko and Barapukuria Coal Mine scam cases.
The joint forces arrested the former state minister for energy at his Mymensingh residence on February 8 last year.
Rab members detained former BNP lawmaker from Gazipur AKM Fazlul Huq Milon, who had been on the run since the joint forces launched the crackdown on corruption suspects, in the capital's Gulshan on September 4 last year.
Milon has been accused in nine cases on different charges including land grabbing, extortion and corruption.
