River pollution

The rivers around Dhaka are getting dangerously polluted day by day. Pollution creates pungent odour and turbidity increase.
The main source of pollution is wastewater from households and industries. Dumping of used engine oil also pollutes water.
The solution could be installation of municipal water treatment plants around the city and ETP plants in industrial units. The dumping of used oil must be prohibited. The authorities concerned should take the necessary initiative to prevent river pollution.
