Freedom fighters and common people in Brahmanbaria, Rajshahi and Satkhira yesterday held separate programmes demanding punishment of Jamaat-Shibir cadres responsible for assaulting freedom fighter Sheikh Mohammad Ali Aman in Dhaka on July 11.
Brahmanbaria district chapter of Muktijoddha Sector Commanders Forum yesterday held daylong programmes including human chain and protest rallies demanding ban on Jatiya Muktijoddha Parishad, a fake freedom fighters organisation floated by Jamaat-e-Islami, reports our Brahmanbaria correspondent.
They demanded punishment of Jamaat-Shibir activists who assaulted freedom fighter Sheikh Mohammad Ali Aman in Dhaka on July 11 and ban on Jatiya Muktijoddha Parishad, an organisation of fake freedom fighters floated by anti-liberation force Jamaat.
Several organisations including Brahmanbaria Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee and Brahmanbaria Zilla Muktijoha Dabi Bastabayan Parishad attended the programmes.
Jamaat floated the fake freedom fighters body to serve their interest by playing trick on common people, speakers said at the rally in front of Brahmanbaria Adhunik Super Market with poet Joydul Hossain, convener of Brahmanbaria Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee, in the chair.
They urged all progressive organizations including freedom fighters, professionals and cultural activists to get united to fight against anti-liberation forces and socially boycott them.
They urged the government to make a law so that anti-liberation forces cannot form so-called bodies in the name of heroic sons of the soil.
Among others, freedom fighter Md Haroon-Ar-Rashid, secretary of Brahmanbaria district Muktijoddha Sector Commanders Forum, freedom fighters Amanul Haque Chento, Al Mamun Sarker, and Md Ali Akbar Majumder, advocate Abdus Samad, president of district Nagorik Committeee, Prof Md Mukhlesur Rahman, former pourasabha chairman Md Helal Uddin, addressed the rally.

Rajshahi University unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) yesterday staged a demonstration on the campus demanding punishment of Jamaat-Shibir cadres who assaulted freedom fighter Sheikh Muhammad Aman Ali.
After a procession led by central BCL leaders on the campus, they held a protest meeting in front of central library where BCL central leaders and RU leaders took part.
They demanded punishment of Jatiya Muktijoddha Parishad leaders for their derogatory comments about the principles of Liberation War.
They demanded trial of war criminals by constituting a special tribunal and ban on Jamaat-Shibir politics in the country.
Earlier, four left leaning students' organisation of RU and cultural activists jointly under the banner of Progotishil Chhatra Jote of RU brought out a protest procession on the campus.
Rajshahi University unit of Bandhan, a campus-based voluntary organisation, yesterday also formed a human chain in front of RU Central Library demanding punishment of Jamaat-Shibir cadres who assaulted freedom fighter Sheikh Mohammad Ali Aman Ali.
Bandhan activists urged all progressive organisations to be united and resist anti-liberation forces.

Local people and freedom fighters organised separate programmes in Debhata and Shyamnagar upazilas demanding punishment of attackers on freedom fighter Sheikh Mohammad Ali Aman.
Over 300 freedom fighters and local people in Debhata formed a human chain in front of Debhata Muktijoddha Sangsad office at Debhata demanding punishment of the attackers on the freedom fighter Sheikh Mohammad Ali Aman.
They urged the government to disqualify the identified war criminals in the next general and local government bodies' elections.
Freedom fighters in a meeting in Shyamnagar upazila yesterday condemned Jamaat-Shibir cadres' attack on the freedom fighter.
