Poet Kaikobad's 57th anniversary of death today

Today is 57th death anniversary of Mohakobi Kaikobad.
He died of bronchopneumonia at Dhaka Medical College Hospital in 1951 at the age of 94.
Kaikobad's literary inspiration derived from his desire to make the backward Muslims aware of their rich tradition and heritage and thereby help restore their glory.
He wrote on religious issues of both Hindus and Muslims.
For his literary achievements, the Nikhil Bharat Sahitya Sangha awarded him the titles of 'Kavyabhusan', 'Vidyabhusan' and 'Sahityaratna'.
Kaikobad's works include 'Mahashmashan', 'Kusumakanan', 'Ashrumala', Amiyadhara, 'Maharram Sharif'.
