Unified English texts needed

Often my students and others ask me which book or manuals should be used for improving English language proficiency.
In fact, the market is currently flooded with several books on English language learning and there are some pirated publications too! What I strongly feel, and hope many would agree, is that the government should undertake a special project involving our local and international experts to prepare a unified set of very relevant texts aided by audios and videos plus a handy and easy teacher's guide to help students and others learn and practise English.
