Debate competition in Faridpur

A two-daylong debate competition titled "Swapan duar khuley esho arun alokey" was held in Faridpur recently. The event was held at Kobi Jasimuddin hall, organised by Faridpur CDL Debate Forum.
Sixteen teams from different schools and colleges of the town took part in the contest.
Govt. Sarda Sundari Mahila College team won the championship defeating the Govt. Rajendra College team at the final of the college section. Govt. Girls High School won over Govt. Zila School in the school section of the competition.
Mridul Kanti Ghosh, chief executive of Faridpur Zila Parisad, was the chief guest at the concluding programme. Among others, Abdul Awal Hawlader, Faridpur additional district magistrate; Professor Altaf Hossein; Professor Motaleb Hossein and Professor Rizvi Zaman spoke at the function with Arif Islam, president of Faridpur CDL Debate Forum in the chair.
Crests, certificates and gifts were presented to the winners. Young artistes performed at a cultural programme after the prize-giving ceremony.
