'Hold JS polls before UZ election'

Awami Jubo League acting President Dr Mizanur Rahman yesterday demanded holding of national election before upazila elections and immediate withdrawal of the state of emergency.
He made the demand while addressing the representative meeting of Narayanganj district Jubo League as the chief guest with district Jubo League President Abdul Kadir in the chair.
Dr Rahman alleged that a portion of the present caretaker government is conspiring to establish BNP-Jamaat alliance socially.
Among others, Jubo League leaders Prof ABM Amzad Hossen, Motaher Hossen Saju, Shahadat Hossen Sajnu, Ali Reza Uzzal, Gazi Mujibur Rahman, Mohammad Jewel, Esrat Jahan spoke at the session, held at district Awami League office.
Demanding Awami League (AL) chief Sheikh Hasina's permanent release they said the government is not arresting corrupt BNP-Jamaat leaders rather harassing AL leaders filing false cases against them. They also demanded release of all detained AL leaders and withdrawal of cases filed against them.
