Recitation evening and award giving ceremony by Swanan

Cultural organisation Swanan arranged a programme, featuring recitation and award giving, at the Shawkat Osman Auditorium, Central Public Library on June 27. Three organisations were awarded with “Nazim Mahmud Smriti Pranadana” and “Nazim Mahmud Sammanana” at the programme.
Ananya Laboni Putul, general secretary of Swanan announced the names of the three award winning organisations-- Sangbrita Abritti Charcha O Bikash Kendra for Nazim Mahmud Smriti Pranadana '08; Bodhon Abritti Parishad, Chittagong for Nazim Mahmud Shammanona '07 and Dhoni, Jahangirnagar University for Nazim Mahmud Smriti Pranadana '06.
Swanan introduced Nazim Mahmud Shammanona and Smriti Pranadana since 2002. Nazim Mahmud was the founder of the organisation. New organisations are selected for the Smriti Pronodona. On the other hand, reputed organisations are selected for the Shammanona Award.
Mahidul Islam, founder director of Shangbrita; Ranjit Rakkhit of Bodhon and Shimul Salahuddin, general secretary, Dhoni received crest on behalf of their respective organisations. Educationist Professor Khan Sarwar Murshid was the chief guest. Mashkur-e-Sattar Kallol, president, Swanan presided over the programme. Among others, Mohammad Ahkamullah, recitor and general secretary of Bangladesh Abritti Samannay Parishad spoke at the programme.
After the award giving ceremony, members of Swanan staged their production Krishnochura Chhaye. Directed by Ananya Laboni Putul, Krishnochura Chhaye featured a number of poems on the Language Movement. Members of Swanan, including Auditi Sadia Rahman, Shuvra Das, Abdullah Al Mamun, Kamal Chowdhury, took part in the recitation.
