2 kg cocaine seized in C'nawabganj

Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) seized two kg cocaine worth Tk 2 crore and 1500 bottles of phensidyl in Sadar and Shibganj upazilas of the district on Thursday night.
Acting on a tip, a BDR team challenged four persons at Purbokodalkati village under Alatuli union in Chapai-nawabganj Sadar upazilaat around 8:30pm, when they were returning from India, said Major Syed Abu Hasan, operations officer of 39 Rifles Battalion.
The team seized cocaine hidden from a bag while the traffickers managed to flee.
In a separate drive conducted on Thursday night, the border guards recovered 1500 bottles of abandoned phensidyl from Kansat and Masudpur villages of Shibganj upazila.
BDR recovered 1.8 kg heroin from the same upazila on June 9.
