Allow non-govt teachers in local govt polls

Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain yesterday urged the caretaker government to allow the teachers of non-government high schools, colleges and madrasas in taking part in upcoming local government election.
In a statement, the renowned jurist also urged the government to give 20 percent dearness allowance to non-government teachers and raise their basic salary.
Meanwhile, Chief Coordinator of Shikkhak Karmochari Oikya Jote Selim Bhuiyan has said their series of protest programmes have been postponed following the announcement of the finance adviser that they will also be given 20 percent dearness allowance, says a press release.
