Prof Shmsher, Prof Naiyyum elected BAS president, secy

Southeast University Vice-Chancellor Prof M Shamsher Ali and Prof Naiyyum Choudhury were elected president and secretary of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) for 2008-12 at the annual general meeting of the Academy on June 13, says a press release.
Prof Shamsher Ali was elected president for the second term.
Other office-bearers are Vice Presidents: National Professor AKM Aminul Haque and Prof Mesbahuddin Ahmad, Treasurer: Prof Syed Mohammad Humayun Kabir and Associate Secretary: Prof Mohammad Kaykobad.
Council members are Prof Aminul Islam, National Professor Nurul Islam, National Professor MR Khan, Prof Quazi Abdul Fattah, Prof AK Azad Chowdhury, Prof Mesbahuddin Ahmed and Editor: Prof KMS Aziz.
