2 'outlaws' held, arms, bombs recovered in Jhenidah

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and police, in separate raids conducted in various places of the district, have arrested two 'outlaws' and recovered arms, ammunition and bombs, Rab and police said.
Thandu and Fazar, two alleged cadres of the outlawed (PBCP-Janajuddah) were arrested Thursday night.
Hailing from Purabatai village under Sadar upazila, Thandu was arrested by Rab from the district town. He is an accused in two murder cases, Rab said.
In another drive, Harinakundo police arrested Fazar, an accused in seven cases including murder, they said.
Rab also recovered three light guns (LG), three bombs and six bullets in the drives.
Meanwhile, Rab foiled a bid of criminals to hurl bombs somewhere in the town.
On a tip-off, the elite force raided an abandoned house of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) where the criminals were taking preparations to hurl bombs. Sensing presence of Rab, the criminals fled away jumping the boundary wall of the BWDB complex.
In a drive conducted at Teltopi village, Rab also recovered a LG and two bullets.
