"Ekjon Ajmol Hossain" to be screened at Rainbow Film Festival, UK

Ekjon Ajmol Hossain (His Dream, His Nightmare) is participating in the "Home and Away" section of the 9th Rainbow Film Festival, London, UK. Films made by non-resident Bangladeshis -- living in UK and USA -- are participating in this section. Ekjon Ajmol Hossain will be screened on May 27 at the Rich Mix Centre, London.
Based on a non-resident Bangladeshi, Farhad Hossain's screenplay, Shahiduzzaman Selim has made the digital film in USA. The film narrates the story of a Bangladeshi, Ajmol Hossain who is obsessed with acquiring an American citizenship. Humayun Faridee, Shahiduzzaman Selim and several Bangladeshi expatriates living in US, have performed in Ekjon Ajmol Hossain.
Other films included in the "Home and Away" category are Room No:28 directed by Anirban Kaddus, Brick Lane directed by Sarah Gavron and Sub Let directed by M. Kamal.
Beginning on May 25 with the screening of an Indian movie Nanhe Jaiselmer, the eight-day festival will run at different venues of East London featuring films from Bangladesh, India and other countries.
Twenty-four films will be screened at the festival in five sections. The sections are: Special Family Film, Bangladesh Panorama, Kolkata to Mumbai, Spice of Life and Home and Away.
After successfully hosting the “Bangladesh Film Festival,” for seven consecutive years in London, Rainbow Film Society, UK has included films from other Asian countries in addition to Bangladesh.
Films made by Bangladeshi renowned filmmakers such as Daruchini Dwip directed by Tauquir Ahmed, Noy Nombor Bipod Shonket directed by Humayun Ahmed and Ghani directed by Kazi Morshed will be screened in 'Bangladesh Panorama' section. The festival will end with a screening of Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's digital film Spartacus '71.
