Arms, ammo seized: Four outlaws held

Police arrested four outlawed party cadres and recovered firearms and ammunition during separate raids in Kushtia and Chuadanga districts on Wednesday night.
According to Kushtia Police Station, acting on a tip-off, a police team of Sadar Police Station raided the Chadgara Housing area of the town and arrested three cadres of outlawed New Biplobi Communist Party (NBCP) while they were holding a secret meeting there at about 11:30pm.
Police recovered one shutter gun, three bullets and two sharp knives from them.
The arrestees are Jalal, 30, son of Kumar Ali, of Muragacha; Uzzal, 25, son of Abdus Sattar, and Khokon, 25, son of Ibrahim, of Raipur at Khoksa upazila in the district.
Police yesterday said they were close accomplices of the NBCP chief Akdil Hossain, who was killed in 'shootout' with police on February 1.
Meanwhile, Alamdanga police arrested Janajuddho cadre Hanif Mondol from Ramdia village at Alamdanga upazila during a raid at about 10:30pm.
Police recovered one rifle and four bullets from his possession.
Hanif was absconding for long after being accused in several cases including two for murder. He was also known as kingpin of Taku Bahini, a notorious gang of the area.
Kushtia and Chuadanga police sources said they are interrogating the criminals.
