Pranab to visit in-laws' home in Narail

Indian President Pranab Mukherjee is scheduled to visit the home of his father-in-law in Narail during his three-day visit to the country in March.
Ahead of the Indian president's visit, most likely on March 3, a team of 12 Indian officials led by Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pankaj Saran visited different places of Narail yesterday including the ancestral home of the president's in-laws in Bhadrabila village under the sadar upazila.
Shuvra Mukherjee, the wife of the Indian president, was born in Bhadrabila village, eight kilometres away from Narail district town. Kanai Lal Ghosh, the Indian president's brother-in-law, is currently residing there.
The Indian team arrived in Narail by a helicopter yesterday and they were greeted by Md Zohirul Haque, deputy commissioner of Narail, with a floral reception, said sources.
Among other places, the Indian team also visited Wellington field, Narail Govt Boys School field and the house of Shuvra Mukherjee's maternal uncle in Chasra village of the sadar upazila.
Sandeep Chakraborty, the Indian deputy high commissioner in Dhaka, Bishwajeet Dey, press officer, and Somnath Ghosh, Indian assistant high commissioner in Chittagong, were part of the 12-member Indian team.
Sharif Humayun Kabir, chairman of Narail sadar upazila, among others, welcomed the Indian team.
