Remove Justice Nizamul from HC

Pro-BNP-Jamaat lawyers yesterday demanded Justice Nizamul Huq's removal from the office of the High Court judge through a Supreme Judicial Council and his trial for holding Skype conversations on ICT-1 with an expatriate Bangladeshi legal expert.
Justice Nizamul resigned from the post of International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 chairman on December 11 amid controversy over the conversations.
Justice Nizamul violated the constitution and his oath and committed misconduct by holding the conversations, Bangladesh Bar Council Vice-Chairman Khandker Mahbub Hossain told a press conference in the Supreme Court Bar Association auditorium.
The lawyers will enforce stern programmes, including laying siege to the chief justice's office and boycotting courts if the chief justice did not meet their demands, said Khandker, an adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
