Fire guts Gazipur RMG factory

A blaze ravaged a garment factory in Bikabari area of Rajendrapur in Gazipur sadar upazila yesterday.
Fire fighters extinguished the fire at Olympic Accessories Limited after three hours of efforts. The fire originated from an electric short circuit around 5:00am.
Abu Zafar Ahmed, senior station officer of fire service in Gazipur, said valuables worth of Tk 1 crore were damaged in the fire.
Ashraf Ali, manager of the factory, however, claimed that the losses were over Tk 6 crore.
