BCB condoles Kuntal's death

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expressed its shock at the death of former Bangladesh under-19 wicketkeeper Kuntal Chandra Pappon, who represented the country in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2000.
Police recovered the 28-year-old cricketer's body on Monday morning. The body bore injury marks on the throat and his hands were tied behind his back with his shirt, said the OC of Turag Police Station.
In a press release the BCB stated: "The Board extends its condolences to the player's family and hopes that those responsible for the heinous act that resulted in the death of a talented cricketer are brought to justice at the earliest and exemplary punishment meted out to them."
A student of Bangladesh Krira Shiksha Protisthan, Pappon represented Bangladesh at both the under-17 and under-19 levels. He made a name for himself as a player of the country's leading sports club Abahani. Most recently he had been playing for Biman. He last played a practice match in Dhanmondi on Friday.
