BGF eyes Olympics

Bangladesh Golf Federation (BGF) is hoping to send their golfers to the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil where golf has been one of the events, expressed organisers of golf in a meet the press event at the Kurmitola Golf Club yesterday. Bangladesh won both the individual and team event gold in the South Asian Games in 2010, which inspired the organisers to think of sending the team, provided the players qualify or get wild card.
BGF general secretary Brigadier General (retd) Kamrul Islam, tournament secretary Brigadier General Abed were present among others at the press conference. Kamrul Islam said that it is not an unachievable target for Bangladeshis to get in the Olympic golf event which will be held again after 108 years. The BGF officials also briefed on the upcoming events that are going to take place at the Kurmitola Golf Club this season.
