Warid, Dhabi Group, Bank Al-Falah donate Tk 10 cr for flood victims

Warid Telecom International, Abu Dhabi Group and Bank Al-Falah donated Tk 10 crore to the Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund for the flood victims yesterday.
A four-member-delegation of Abu Dhabi Group and its corporate bodies led by Marwan Suleiman Zawaydeh, adviser to the Board and Group Chief Technical Officer, Warid Telecom, handed over the cheques to Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed at the latter's office, says a press release.
Muneer Farooqui, chief executive officer, and Ashraful H Chowdhury, general manager (Government and Operators Relations) of Warid Telecom and Majedur Rahman, country head of Bank Al-Falah, were present on behalf of their organisations.
Of the donated amount, Abu Dhabi Group contributes Tk 7 crore, Warid Telecom Tk 2 crore and Bank Al-Falah Tk 1 crore.
Conveying the deepest sympathy in a personal letter to the chief adviser, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Group Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan stated, "As part of our corporate social responsibility, the donation is to participate with you in the combined efforts and initiative to help and support the people of Bangladesh."
"The caretaker government under your dynamic leadership is constantly working towards recovering from this disaster," Sheikh Nahayan added.
In this respect Sheikh Nahayan reiterated his commitment of extending all possible support and cooperation to the government and sincerely wishes continued success and progress to the government and people of Bangladesh.
Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed thanked Warid Telecom International, Abu Dhabi Group and Bank Al-Falah for their support.
Kazi M Aminul Islam, secretary-in-charge to the chief adviser and Syed Fahim Munaim, press secretary to the chief adviser, were also present.
