Premier League

BFF reveals schedule

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) yesterday revealed the schedule of the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League with holders Abahani playing the opening game against Feni Soccer Club at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on November 13.
BFF earlier said that the matches would take place on three particular days (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) every week in an effort to attract more spectators but seemingly in the face of demand from the participating clubs, scheduled some matches on Tuesday, Wednesday and Monday.
The league will remain suspended during the national team's exhibition match against Thailand from November 15 to 18 and during Bangladesh U-23's engagement in an Invitation Tournament in Sri Lanka from December 1 to 10.
A total of nine teams will be playing at three separate venues -- Gopalganj has been included for the first time as the home venue for last year's runners-up Muktijoddha Sangsad.
The last edition of the professional football league also saw three venues used for the league but this time Team BJMC have shifted their home venue to Dhaka from Tangail while the Shaheed Salam Stadium in Feni will remain the home venue of Feni Soccer Club. Bangabandhu National Stadium will be treated as the home venue for the seven remaining teams.
