Ashraful enigma

I don't know exactly what happens with Ashraful (Senior) whenever he goes out to bat. Notwithstanding, having the calibre of a great batsman, he is yet failing to prove his class.
While watching his batting during the first day of the Test match between Bangladesh and South Africa, I observed his eagerness to pace the innings more calmly than usual.
When Botha came on to bowl his off spin, he dispatched a couple of loose deliveries for well deserved boundaries which did not entail a great deal of risk--- so eight runs were scored in five balls---any batsman of some maturity would settle for that.
But, this does not go well with Ashraful. Instead of playing safe the next ball, he came down the wicket and hit the ball straight back to Botha's safe hands giving a very easy catch and returning to the dressing room with a yet again soft dismissal.
Frankly speaking, however, he is lucky that he is playing for the Bangladesh cricket team, and there is no better batsman in our country than him. He would have been shown the door by any other cricket team, after so many failures.
I want him to tag a good price for his wicket. A batsman of his calibre doesn't need to play such rash strokes. He should realise that runs would come without any great risk if he stays at the crease as long as possible.
