Bus kills tea-stall owner

A tea-stall owner was run over and killed by a bus while crossing a road in the capital's Sayedabad area yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Shahabuddin, 65, a resident of Sayedabad.
Quoting witnesses, victim's son Monir Hossain said his father was crossing the road in front of Sayedabad Bus Terminal around 8:30am as a Shanir Akhra-bound bus hit him.
Locals rushed Shahabuddin to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 9:30 am.
Shahabuddin was returning home after a whole night's work at his tea-stall, Monir added.
Police seized the bus but its driver managed to escape.
