16 Shibir men arrested over RU bus torching

Sixteen activists of pro-Jamaat student organisation Islami Chhatra Shibir were detained from different areas of Rajshahi city early yesterday on suspicion of their involvement in torching a bus of Rajshahi University (RU) on September 17.
The detainees are -- Tabibar Rahman, Asaduzzaman, Shamim Sarker, Habib Sarker, Iarul Islam, Rezaul Karim, Abdul Zobber, Shariful Islam, Shahadat Hossain, Abdus Salam, Shahidul Islam, Afzal Hossain, Nurul Huda, Zubaer Alam, Salauddin, and Abdullah.
Anisur Rahman, officer-in-charge at Motihar Police Station, said they arrested the people from Kazla, Binodpur and Meherchandi area.
Most of the arrestees were university admission seekers, he said.
