Monsoon greeted with recitation

Panthojon, a recitation organisation, arranged a cultural programme to celebrate the monsoon titled “Monghol Aloye Alokito Houk Path Chola…Manobotar Joy Houk” at Theatre Institute Chittagong (TIC) in the port city on Sunday evening.
The renditions started with a group dance by Proma Abonti and her troupe, Odissi and Tagore and Movement Centre, while reciters of the organisation presented Rashed Rouf's “Etihasher Shamne Shadinotar Thikanae.”
In the programme guest reciters, Shubhra Biswas, Rashed Hasan, Aisha Haque Shimu, Anchol Chowdhury and Mili Chowdhury recited poems on monsoon.
The evenings rounded up with a number of monsoon songs rendered by guest artistes Sreyoshi Roy and Shantanu Biswas.
Shubhra Biswas also staged excerpts from Kazi Nazrul Islam's play "Rakkhosi" that won audience appreciation.
Educationist AJM Nasir Uddin was present as chief guest while media personality Obhik Osman, Brijet Dais, president of the organisation and Mithun Mollik, executive director were present among others on the occasion.
