Students of five more schools in Dinajpur, Jhenidah and Faridpur districts yesterday took part in joyful events at English language fairs held under English in Schools programme, a joint initiative of The Daily Star and mobile operator Robi.
Adcomm Ltd is the creative and event partner of the fairs.
Our Dinajpur correspondent reported that over 250 students of Biral Pilot High School in Biral upazila of the district joined the English language fair held at the school auditorium in the afternoon.
Monjurul Hasan, headmaster of the school, inaugurated the fair at around 2:00pm. After watching The Lion King, a globally renowned movie, students of the schools participated in spot quiz, vocabulary test and situation-based question answer--all based on the movie.
Selected students also took part in extempore speech on different topics and role play. Prizes were distributed among the winners of different competition.
In Jhenidah, at least 150 students from Moheshpur Secondary Pilot Girls' School and Kotchandpur Secondary School took part in the fair held at Moheshpur Secondary Pilot Girls' School auditorium.
Headmaster Md Rezaul Karim of Moheshpur Secondary Girls' School opened the fair at around 11:00am. Robi Area Manager Raihan Kabir, teachers of the two schools and guardians of the students were present.
Following screening of The Lion King, students of the two institutions took part in spot quiz, vocabulary test, one word question and quick questions--all based on the movie.
The students also entertained the audience by telling jokes and singing songs. Prizes were distributed among the winners of different competitions at the end of the programme.
Our Faridpur correspondent adds: over 200 students from Faridpur Zila School, Faridpur Government Girls' High School and Domrakandi High School joined the English language held at the zila school auditorium.
After watching the globally renowned movie, The Loin King, Students participated in spot quiz, vocabulary test, and situation-based question answer. Selected students took part in extempore speech on different topics and role play.
Eighteen students won different competitions. Prizes were distributed among the winners at the end of the programme.
