Win takes Fahad to 5th

Sub-junior champion Fahad Ahmed won his fifth-round board but junior champion Abdullah Al Saif lost his board in the Asian Youth Chess Championship in Sri Lanka yesterday.
Fahad defeated Iranian Toufani Kourosh to secure 3.5 points from five matches and stay in fifth position of the U-10 group while Saif lost to Kazakhstan Sudicov to stay on three points in ninth position of the U-18 Group.
