Two muggers arrested

Two alleged muggers were caught from Lakhan Bazar area in the port city yesterday.
The arrestees were Tipu Sultan, 28, hailed from Barguna, and Saddam Hossain, 22, hailed from Sitakunda upazila in Chittagong.
Shah Alam, sub-inspector (SI) of Panchlaish Police Station, said a garments worker named Shahana Parvin and her brother were going to Chittagong Railway Station on a rickshaw, when the muggers snatched her vanity bag in front of Chittagong Shopping Complex in Sholoshahar around 6:30am.
Hearing Shahana and her brothers' cries for help, a mobile police team rushed to the spot and chased the muggers, who were trying to flee in a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, the SI said.
The police managed to catch the duo from Lalkhan Bazar area, he added.
A case was filed with Panchlaish Police Station in this regard.
