Commerce secretary to chair UNESCAP sessions in Bangkok

Commerce Secretary Ghulam Hussain has been selected as the chairman of the Committee of the Whole-II (COW-II) of the ongoing 68th session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in Bangkok.
As the chairman of COW-II, Hussain will conduct four important sessions of UNESCAP.
The UNESCAP session started in Thailand's capital on May 17 and will continue until May 23, the commerce ministry said in a statement yesterday.
During the sessions Hussain will discuss the dynamics of world economies, trade and commerce, investment, social development, information and communication technologies, disaster management and impact of climate change in the Asia and the Pacific region.
Hussain will also highlight different issues of Bangladesh at the sessions, according to the statement.
