After a long hiatus, DVDs of Tareque and Catherine Masud films-- "Muktir Kotha" and "Muktir Gaan"-- with subtitles were launched on March 25 at the British Council auditorium, says a press release. The “Muktir Kotha” DVD also features a brief version of a documentary relating to women freedom fighters.
US filmmaker Lear Levin, whose work is the core of the documentary "Muktir Gaan", was present at the event as special guest and launched the DVD.
Artistes of Bangladesh Mukti Shangrami Shilpi Shangstha, who feature in “Muktir Gaan”, were also present at the programme.
Chairman of Laser Vision AKM Arifur Rahman and Managing Director of the company Mazharul Islam were also present at the ceremony.
Catherine Masud said that after the untimely demise of Tareque, she plans to carry on with the unfinished projects of her husband. She also announced that the DVD of Tareque Masud's work on SM Sultan, “Adom Surat”, will be launched soon.
The Liberation War based DVDs will be available at the stores, adds the press release.
The event was organised by Laser Vision and Audio Vision.
