A new chapter for Kanak Chapa

Apart from her career in singing, noted singer Kanak Chapa has been refining her writing skills for an extensive period. Although it has been 20 years since she began writing poetry, this year's Ekushey book fair saw her first poetry book being published.
Panjeri Publications brought out the book titled“ Mukhomukhi” in the first week of the fair. Kanak Chapa herself was present at the book launch, along with popular singers Shuvro Deb, Monir Khan, Andrew Kishore and music director Moinul Islam Khan. Eminent littérateur Imdadul Haq Milon unveiled the book cover at the fair.
Readers will get an audio CD -- featuring a recital of 10poems out of the 60 in the book by Kanak Chapa.
Last year, Kanak Chapa made her debut as a writer with thepublication of “Sthobir Jajabor”, a personal memoir. The book was well appreciated by readers. Kanak Chapa is hopeful of a similar response to her latest venture.
Kanak Chapa said she will not be able to go to the fair regularly, but added she will drop in when possible to sign autographs for her fans at the stall.
Kanak Chapa added that “Mukhomukhi” features poems on love and nature.
