Wahidul Haque remembered in Comilla

The Comilla Unit of Rabindra Sangeet Sammilon Parishad (RSSP) observed the first death anniversary of renowned Tagore exponent Wahidul Haque, says a press release.
A discussion titled, Our Culture and Legacy of Wahidul Haque, was a part of the programme. The event was presided over by Santanu Kaisar, president of the Comilla unit of RSSP. Noted writer Hasan Azizul Haque spoke at the programme. Haque insisted that we must remember the roots of our culture, for, without it a nation cannot move forward.
Among others who spoke on the occasion were Mofidul Haque, Jahanara Noushin, Partha Tanvir Noved (son of Wahidul Haque) and Bulbul Islam, central secretary of the organisation.
Artistes of the organisation performed a chorus followed by solo performances by Susanta Ray, Monory Sadhu, Mita Paul, Ripa Dutt, Sharmim Sathi Islam, Balbul Islam and Partha Tanvir Noved. Poems of Tagore were recited by Bhashwar Banerjee.
The cultural programme ended with a presentation of the dance-drama Chandalika, directed by Sharmila Banerjee.
