Impaled newlywed dies

Two days into his marriage, a youth died before his wife at Sirajdikhan in Munshiganj after being impaled by a bamboo due to a careless turn of the CNG-run auto-rickshaw they were in.
Khokon Bepari, 23, was sitting at one end of the passenger's seat when the driver tried to swerve and overtake a vehicle at Razanagar Shawshankhola around 7:00pm. But the vehicle ended up going sideways into a rickshaw-van carrying bamboo, causing one of the plants to pierce into his abdomen. Mentionable, such vehicles outside the capital have no grills on the doors.
His wife rushed him to Dhaka Medical Collage Hospital in the same vehicle in two hours, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Police detained the driver Mofijul, 35, who admitted his carelessness.
