Movie Talk

Sahara takes the lead

Starting her film career in 2004, actress Sahara has amassed fame for her many memorable performances. Through hard work and dedication, Sahara has become one of the busiest actresses in the film industry at present.
The massive commercial success of “Priya Amar Priya” put the spotlight on Sahara. Under the direction of Bodiul Alam Khokon, Sahara starred opposite the biggest name in the industry at the moment -- Shakib Khan. The acceptance and popularity of the movie cleared many obstacles in the road ahead for her, along with opening up more opportunities to act opposite Emon and Maruf.
The first six months of her career saw several releases -- “Bondhu Tumi Shotru Tumi” and “Ora Amake Bhalo Hotey Dilo Na”, drawing massive crowds to the movie theatres.
However, the actress still considers “Priya Amar Priya” to be the turning point in her career. She also mentions “Bolbo Kotha Bashor Ghorey”, “Bhalobeshe Bou Anbo”, “Prem Koyedi”, “Rastar Chhele”, “Paach Takar Prem”, “Shaheb Naam-er Golam” and “Boroloker Dosh Din Goriber Ekdin” to be among her notable works.
Recently, Sahara returned from Bangkok, where she shot three movies all featuring Shakib Khan. The films are Bodiul Alam Khokon's “Boss Number One” and “Ami Number One” and F.I. Manik's “My Name is Sultan”. She is also working with Shakib Khan in Shahin Shumon's “Nobabzada” and F.I. Manik's “Bichar Ami Korbo”.
She has signed contracts for 12 movies, with several others in the pipeline.
Sahara says she is very careful about choosing the right roles.
The strength of the plot, as well as the co-stars help determine which movies to pick, says the actress, adding that her wish is to win over the viewers.
