Meraj, Faruk Rajshahi AL president, secretary

Awami League's (AL) Rajshahi district unit committee was announced on Saturday with lawmakers Meraj Uddin Mollah as president and Omar Faruk Chowdhury as general secretary.
Furthermore, Bazlur Rahman was elected president of AL Rajshahi city unit. He was serving as the acting president since the last president Maksudul Haque's death in 2009, said AL Organising Secretary Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Swapan over phone.
AL central committee led by its President Sheikha Hasina approved the committee at a meeting held at her Dhaka office after the proposal came from the district committee, he added.
The last president Tajul Islam M Faruk was elected in the 2005 council. Those elected and those who were not submitted separate proposals, which the central unit took under consideration to avoid internal conflict, he said.
The others elected are Senior Vice President Akhtar Jahan, Joint Secretary Asaduzzaman Asad and Organising Secretary Layeb Uddin Lablu.
