CRP's activities unique, imitable

The members of Parliamentarians' Caucus on Disability headed by Awami League lawmaker Advocate Abdul Matin Khasru visited the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) yesterday to gain practical knowledge about the services of the centre.
CRP Executive Director Shafiq-ul Islam briefed the visiting team comprised of ABM Ghulam Mostafa MP and Rowshan Jahan Shathi MP on the services offered by the CRP to people with disabilities. The National Forum of Organisations Working with the Disabled (NFOWD) coordinated the programme.
Abdul Matin Khasru told The Daily Star, “The way the CRP is working for the treatment and rehabilitation of the physically challenged people at almost free of cost is quite unique not only in Bangladesh but in the world. The combination of such commitment and cordial service is needed at every hospital in the country”.
We would recommend to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to increase governmental allocation for the CRP, he added.
The team members expressed their hope to formulate realistic and supportive laws and policies to uphold the rights and fundamental freedom of people with disabilities from the practical knowledge they gained from the CRP.
