Musa Ibrahim tourism envoy of Tanzania

The country's first conqueror of Mount Everest, Musa Ibrahim was yesterday honoured as the Tourism Ambassador of Tanzania in Bangladesh.
The permanent secretary of Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism of Tanzania Dr Donatius MK Kamamba made the announcement at a reception programme at Hadary Plaza in Dar es Salam.
The programme was organised by Bangladeshi expatriates in Tanzania to honour Musa and his two associates, Niaz Patwari and MA Sattar.
After the mountaineers made a PowerPoint presentation, on 'Tourism of Bangladesh', Dr Kamamba, cited similarities between the landscapes of the two countries.
He said it should be easy to build a co-operation in tourism sectors between Tanzania and Bangladesh.
"I hope Musa would help us make use of the endless possibilities that our tourism has to offer," he said.
Sadruddin Sharif, Honorary Consul General of Bangladesh government and Maksudur Rahman, country representative of Ion Exchange India Ltd spoke on the occasion.
Sharifuddin Babul, the president of Bangladesh Association in Tanzania, Zahoro Kimwaga, the acting director of ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism were also present, among others.
Prior to the programme, Musa met Kamamba and gave him a souvenir from Bangladesh.
Earlier on September 14, Musa reached Uhuru Peak, the highest point of Mt Kilimanjaro, along with Niaz Patwari, who accompanied Musa to the base camp during his Everest triumph on May 23 last year.
The mountaineers are scheduled to return to Dhaka on September 22.
On August 28, Musa was announced as the Tourism Ambassador of Bangladesh.
