Sadek no more


Abdus Sadek, former national football coach, died of kidney failure in the early hours of yesterday at the Islami Hospital. He was 68.
Sadek was suffering from kidney and heart disease for a longtime. He left behind his wife, two sons and a numerous well-wishers to mourn his death.
Sadek, who coached the Bangladesh Red team that won the President Cup in 1989 at home soil, was also chief football coach of National Sports Council from 1985-90.
Bangladesh Football Federation and Sonali Otit Club expressed their condolences to the family members of the deceased and prayed for the departed soul.
