Tk 6.25 lac already in Sadi fund

Different organisations and personalities have come forward to extend their helping hands in support of ailing sports reporter Al Musabbir Sadi, who is currently fighting against cancer.
Riazuddin Al Mamun, a former Bangladesh Cricket Board director and chairman of Epyllion Group, topped the list of donors till Sunday with a generous fund of Tk 3 lac.
Bangladesh Hockey Federation general secretary Khandaker Jamil Uddin, Mohammedan cricket committee's member secretary Hanif Bhuyian, members of Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association have donated one lac taka each while Bangladesh Sports Journalist Community rendered their support by contributing 25 thousand taka in the 'Fund for Sadi's treatment'.
The donations have already been handed over to the family members of Sadi, who is currently receiving treatment at the city's Square Hospital.
The appeal to save Sadi that was carried in every newspaper of the country on Thursday created enormous response from everywhere. Already a number of organisations and many individuals have expressed their desire to join the 'save Sadi' fundraising campaign.
A long-time football reporter and a keen enthusiast of the game, Sadi had recently left The Daily Star to pursue a career with the Bangladesh Football Federation as its general secretary. True to character, even as the cancer has almost rendered him helpless and frail, Sadi still fights on.
His family have already spent a lot of money on his treatment, but even so this has not been enough by any means.
And as part of our campaign to stand by Sadi we would like to continue our appeal to caring donors and acknowledge every contribution for the noble cause.
