Burkina opposition calls anti-president demo

Thirty-four parties in the Burkina Faso opposition yesterday called a demonstration for next week to demand the departure of long-serving President Blaise Compaore, building on weeks of protests.
The call for an April 30 rally came a day after a new government was established after Compaore dissolved the previous one in an attempt to quell unprecedented protests since February, mainly by soldiers and students.
