Photo exhibition and film festival in Barisal

A three-day photography exhibition and film festival began on March 26 at Ashwini Kumar Hall in Barisal city. This was the first such event by Barisal Photography and Film Society (BPFS).
Barisal City Corporation (BCC) Mayor Advocate Shawkat Hossain Hiron inaugurated the programme.
Barisal city will get a photo and art gallery soon, assured the mayor in his speech, while thanking the organiser for arranging the programme.
Among others, Muniruzzaman, renowned painter and executive of Gallery Chitrak; Saidur Rahman Rintu, president of Barisal Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Dipu Hafizur Rahman, coordinator of the programme, addressed the inaugural session.
Works of photographers of the region are on display at the exhibition with the theme of 'Swapno Jatra' (a journey to dream).
In addition, six films and documentaries on the Liberation War -- “Aguner Paroshmoni”, “Stop Genocide' , “Muktir Gaan”, “Ora Egaro Jon”, “Concert for Bangladesh ” and “Ekatturer Barisal” -- are being screened every day at the festival.
