Bahurupi Natya Sangstha’s Homage to Language Martyrs

Bahurupi Natya Sangstha, a leading theatre troupe of the town, staged a drama “Shahidera Kotha Boley” at Town Hall Shaheed Minar premises on February 23 evening.
Written and directed by Sabuj Sarwar and Shahadat Hossain Khan Hilu respectively, the drama was based on the Language Movement.
The cast of the play comprised Sujon, Russell, Saikat, Babu, Khokon, Razib, Ripon, Shaily, Ullash, Tushar, Faysal, Saju, Jhuma and Shiblu.
The artistes of Bahurupi Sangskritik Academy performed riveting dance sequences. The artistes were Suchi, Sakin, Sithi and Nijhum.
Earlier, a discussion was held with Professor Helal-ul-Islam, managing director of Bahurupi Natya Sangstha in the chair.
Among others Dr. Tara Golandaj and Professor Prodip Kumar Biswas addressed the gathering. Secretary of Bahurupi Natya Sangstha Shahadat Hossain Khan Hilu delivered the welcome speech.
The speakers said that we can never repay the debt of those who sacrificed their lives for our mother tongue. Ekush was not only a movement for mother tongue but it was also a movement to establish our rights, said the speakers.
The present and future generations should pay due respect to our mother tongue and the language martyrs, asserted the speakers.
