Bail prayers of two Jamaat leaders rejected

Detained two assistant secretaries general of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Muhammad Kamaruzzaman and Abdul Quader Molla were sent to jail yesterday in a case filed for preventing police from discharging duties during hartal hours on June 27.
Third Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Ali Hussain rejected their bail prayers and ordered to send them to jail. Earlier, Paltan police produced them before it on completion of their two-day remand.
On July 13, the two Jamaat leaders were arrested from the Supreme Court premises in connection with the case filed for killing 345 people during the country's Liberation War in 1971.
Later, they were remanded for several days in several cases filed with different police stations on different dates.
