Artist Gulshan Hossain attending painting symposium in France


Artist Gulshan Hossain recently left for Paris, to participate in an International Painting Symposium to be held in Normandy, France for three weeks, according to a press release. Gulshan is among 25 artists selected for the symposium.
This painting symposium will take place at the Exhibition Hall at Saint-Lô, Normandy from September 2 to 12.
After France, Gulshan will be visiting art related organisations and galleries to explore the position of Bangladeshi art in Los Angeles and San Francisco, USA.
Gulshan Hossain completed BFA (Drawing and Painting) from University of Development Alternative Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2006 and MFA (Drawing and Painting) from Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, UK in 2008.
Apart from attending a number of workshops and art camps, she participated in a number of solo and group art exhibitions that were held both at home and abroad. The artist has bagged several awards including second prize in Abstract and Surrealism at the 28th International Miniature Art Competition, held in Florida, USA in 2003.
